LOLA AND THE CARTWHEELS IS NOW DEAD. LONG LIVE LOLA!
Things have finally wound down and we've gone our separate ways, done our own things and moved on. Nothing lasts forever and we feel the time is now right to break away and start new chapters in our lives.
DIY is a struggle, an exhausting but AMAZING struggle and we are so grateful for all the support and help in every venture we have undertaken. We'd like to thank everyone who ever came down to a show, submitted their zine to the distro, DJ'd, worked the door, sold their wares and danced and partied with us!
Lola has been so great for all of us involved and we hope you have had as much fun as us and taken away some amazing and important skills and memories. We're all still around running a whole bunch of projects and stuff so keep your eyes out! There are so many more amazing riot grrrl/ queer feminist organisations popping up around us and we wish them all the very best.
Thanks and we hope to see you around at Ladyfests and rad grrrl/queer events up and down the country!

*You can still contact us through this page if you would like any info about Lola and hir events. We are happy to answer any interviews, dissertation questions and would love to support any projects you are working on. This page will not be deleted because we believe strongly in ARCHIVE!
We are Lola and the Cartwheels!
We are a DIY queer/feminist collective, operating on a not-for-profit basis, looking to support and showcase awesome performers, artists and musicians and bring them closer to you! Through clubnights, gigs or events in your area, booking and tour managing awesome travelling artists and running a distro for you to order zines right to your house or even to encourage you to make your own and send it to us to sell online, Lola and the Cartwheels is here for you, just like projects like this were here for us when we needed them the most.
Lola is for anyone who wants to get together with a group of like-minded ego-free people to party, discover new and exciting things as well as access amazing queer/feminist projects out there and dance to your favourite empowering songs.
We operate completely on a not for profit basis, basically aiming to cover the costs of the artists, zinesters, craft types or anyone involved; any money we make goes to the artists/musicians themselves.
We run a distro full of zines, books and DIY projects and you can see all the info on that on the distro tab at the top of this page.
